Hello SISters!

How are you, my loves?

Today we will continue the Jolie week and we will explain the reason why this mini-column is called SISgraphy. Are you ready?

SISgraphy are everything the birthday boy/girl of the week has done in their life. Therefore, if he is an actor, we will see his filmography; if he is a musician, we will see his discography; if he is a writer, we’ll talk about his bibliography, and so on…

But, SIS, what if he does all of that at the same time?

Then we will write about his SISgraphy!

Let’s talk about Angelina Jolie achievements, shall we?

SIS Tip: If you want to see the movies trailers, click on their names!

Angelina Jolie made her big screen debut in 1982, with the movie “Lookin’ to Get Out” (1982), alongside her father, Jon Voight.

In her early career, she participated in 5 of her brother’s movies while he was still studying at the USC School of Cinema-Television because she found it very difficult to pass the professional screening tests because she constantly heard she had a “very dark” look.

In addition, she appeared in some music videos, such as “Stand by My Woman” by Lenny Kravitz (1991), “Alta Marea” by Antonello Venditti (1991), “It’s About Time” by The Lemonheads and “Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through” by Meat Loaf (1993).

But she only took her acting career seriously a decade later, when she got a role in “Cyborg 2: Glass Shadow” (1993).

Her first major role in a big production was “Hackers” (1995), where she fell in love with her colleague Jonny Lee Miller, whom she married in March 1996. She wore a pair of leather pants and a white T-shirt as a wedding gown. On the back of the T-shirt she wrote, with her own blood, her husband’s name. (Disgusting!)

I think her first movie that I noticed and watched (I was very young at the time) was “Girl, Interrupted” (1999), a movie about a girl (Winona Ryder) who is sent to a psychiatric hospital where she discovers a different universe full of seductive and upset young people.

One of them is Lisa (Angelina), a super charming sociopath who plans an escape. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress because of her incredible acting.

In the same year (1999), Angelina was in the movie “Pushing Tin“, where she met the actor and musician Billy Bob Thornton. In May 2000, they were married in a small church in the city of Las Vegas.

As a symbol of their union, they wore a necklace whose pendant was a small glass jar containing blood from one another. (Disgusting!)

But I think what made her really famous was her performance in “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” (2001), a film inspired by the video games heroine that tells the story of Lara (Angelina), daughter of a disappeared archaeologist, who works as a photojournalist and was raised in the British aristocracy.

One day, she hears a different sound inside her mansion, which leads her to a discovery that leads her to a secret society. After this movie, she entered the list of leading Hollywood actresses.

In 2003, Angelina Jolie released a book called “Notes from My Travels“.

It tells a little bit about the harsh reality of refugees in countries like Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Cambodia, Pakistan, Vietnam and Ecuador, places she visited in 2001 and 2002, when she became a Goodwill Ambassador to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

All the money raised was donated to the institution.

In 2005, she starred in the film “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”, which tells the story of John Smith (Brad Pitt) and Jane, his wife, who work as hired assassins but do not know about each other’s work.

The couple’s life changes drastically when they both receive a new job and end up having to accomplishing the same mission.

While shooting she fell in love with Brad Pitt, whom she married officially in 2014, in France, but was living together with since 2005 and have today 6 children.

Unfortunately, to destroy our shipp, the couple separated in 2016.

Angelina was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in Clint Eastwood‘s movie “Changeling” (2008), which tells the story of a single mother (Angelina), who goes to work and, when she returns home, she discovers that her son had disappeared.

Five months later the police finds a child claiming to be her son, but she insists that he is not.

Another great success was “Salt” (2010), a film about Evelyn Salt (Angelina), a CIA agent who swore to serve and honor her country, but is accused by a Russian deserter of being a Russian spy infiltrated.

She then decides to prove her innocence. I particularly love this movie!

Just don’t do the same things she does in this movie, because I went to dye my hair at home (as she does in a scene) and it did not work at all…especially because my hair color is red!

Angelina’s movie that I love the most is “The Tourist” (2010). It tells the story of Elise (Angelina), who lived a year with Alexander Pearce, a man wanted by the police (and gangsters), and is watched  closely by the head of Scotland Yard (Paul Bettany).

When Pearce contacts Elise, no one knows what he looks like at the moment because they know he underwent several plastic surgeries to escape, so he asks her to go to Venice and choose someone with the same physical type. She chooses Frank (Johnny Depp), who becomes the target of the police and the powerful Russian gangster who searches for Pearce.

From 2010 onwards, she decided to expand her career behind the scenes and started directing, writing and producing, in “In the Land of Blood and Honey” (2011) and “Unbroken” (2014).

Her biggest success was the fantasy movie “Maleficent” (2014). Based on the short story “Sleeping Beauty”. It tells the story of Malévola (Angelina), protector of the Moors kingdom, who since childhood has maintained peace between two kingdoms.

She falls in love with the boy Stefan (Sharlto Copley), but as he wishes to become the leader of the kingdom next door, he abandons the young girl with horns and wings. From there, Maleficent becomes a bitter and vengeful person cursing his newborn daughter, Aurora (Elle Fanning).

Angelina is a wonderful woman and a super professional!

I hope you have enjoyed the SISgraphy of this actress that I love so much.
