Hi, SISters and BROthers!

Let’s talk about a Goddess on the Happy Hour of this week?

She who, with her charm, sings, dances, produces (everything including perfumes and clothes) and acts: our Diva Jennifer Lopez! Turn it on DJ SIS!

Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born in New York City, specifically in the Bronx, on July 24, 1969, that means tomorrow is her birthday and she will turn 49 years old.

Her sign is lion and she is the daughter of Guadalupe Rodríguez and David Lopez, both of Puerto Rican origin, being that his mother was a nurse and his father worked with electronics. She also has two sisters, the oldest one named Leslie and the youngest Lynda.

JLo, as she is popularly known, began singing at the age of 5 and spent his entire academic career studying at Catholic schools, finishing at Preston High School.

At school, she did gymnastics, ran nationally and was a member of the school’s softball team. She was an excelled athlete, competing several times in national championships.

Her artistic life began when she was selected to be a substitute dancer for the New Kids on the Block group in 1991, and shortly thereafter she won her first regular high profile job as a Fly Girl dancer on the In Living Color TV show.

In 1993, Jenny decided to pursue a full-time acting career, but before leaving the show she worked briefly as a supporting dancer for American artist Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson‘s sister.

JLo‘s love life is intense and exciting, because she has been through highs and lows, but she was always in search of love…who never went through the love’s roller coaster, right?

JLo had her first love in 1984, when she was only 15 years old, and his name was David Cruz. Their relationship lasted 10 years.

Subsequently, she even dated Wesley Snipes in 1995.

Her next relationship would be her first marriage. The husband was a Cuban waiter from Miami called Ojani Noa. It happens that the marriage lasted only a year.

Already at the end of the 90’s, JLo went out for two years with Sean Combs (also known as P. Diddy), who baptized her with this nickname (JLo) we love so much and that launched his career.

In 2001, she married dancer Cris Judd, but due to irreconcilable differences, they divorced a year later.

But JLo‘s relationship that we shipped the most was with Ben Affleck. They started coming out during the filming of the movie “Gigli” in 2002. Like our Samcait, the media (yes, the media, not just the shippers) started referring to them as Bennifer and they shook the fandom of the 2000’s!

Bennifer was such a popular term that it eventually entered Urban Dictionaries and neologism dictionaries as a remarkable event, since the tendency to refer to celebrity couples by mixing their names began with Ben and JLo.

The couple were scheduled to marry in 2003, but one day before the ceremony, they delayed the wedding and broke the relationship one year later.

In January 2004, JLo began dating his long-time friend Marc Anthony (real name: Marco Antonio Muñiz) and they got married the same year. They lived in Brookville, New York, and had a couple of twins: a son, Maximilian David, and a daughter, Emme Maribel, born in 2008. But in 2012, Anthony filed for divorce.

After the end of the relationship with Marc Anthony, JLo had other relationships (some were not confirmed), but we chose not to comment them because we wanted to stop in time exactly at that moment in which she visibly realized the dream of being a mother.

But we will have all week to comment on her love life and much more that happened in this diva’s life, so do not miss the next posts of our Happy Hour dedicated to this incredible woman, who every day become more powerful, beautiful and gorgeous, Jennifer Lopez!
